		<description>That&#039;s a terrific idea.  I&#039;m not sure that the social networking feature is crucial, though -- if you&#039;re looking for a drummer, does it matter whether he&#039;s a friend of a friend?

If you want to do something fancier than straightforward &quot;musician wanted&quot; ads,  you could try to add hooks for people&#039;s musical preferences.  &quot;Find me all the keyboard players within 50 miles who like Devo&quot; or something like that.  You could piggyback it on Amazon like AllConsuming and many other services do for books.

BTW, the Chronicle used to run free classifieds for musicians seeking musicians.  Nothing fancy, but you might find someone looking for a bass player that way.
