Deerhoof: The Runners Four

I really like this album. I mean really like it. I think I might take it home to meet the folks. She’s a real keeper.

So, I’d heard Deerhoof’s Apple ‘O and Milkman albums before, and quite frankly I thought this band was a bit too avant-garde for my taste. But JMike recommended it so I tried to like it. Couldn’t really get into it until now. The Runners Four, their new album, is so much more listenable and actually musical. I really hope this is the sound they were trying to get this whole time because it really is original. I don’t use the word Original lightly.

And Milkman has to be one of the most disturbing album covers I’ve ever seen.

See the Google Music search page for more info on this album.

Then buy it. Because it will leave stretch marks on your mind.

  1. The track, “Sprit Ditties Of No Tone” is one of the most incredible things I think I’ve ever heard.
